NUMBER OF ENTRIES:
One picture per child accompanied by entry fee.
A minimum of 5 pictures need to be submitted in any age category entered by your school.
If there are less than 5 pictures in one age category, they may be judged in a mixed-schools group.
LABELLING OF WORK:
Name, school year and school must be clearly marked in block capitals on the back of each entry.
There should be no name or signature on the front of the picture.
A short explanation may be put on the back of the picture which we will try to include if the picture is selected.
Each school should provide a complete list of the children and their year group, together with a summary of the numbers of pictures submitted per age category.
All entries must be received by 7th February 2017
The number of pictures selected from each school is a proportion of the total submitted by that school, so the more entries there are from your school, the more pictures will be exhibited.
Judges will select 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes in each age category.
Judges will also select Highly Commended and Commended pictures in each age category.
The Ruskin School of Art will be awarding a prize in each age category - please see separate section for details.
RETURN OF PICTURES:
If your picture has not been selected, it will be returned to your school after the exhibition.
If your picture has been selected and bought at the exhibition by your family, it will be returned to you via your school after the exhibition.
If your picture has been selected but has not been bought at the exhibition, we will not be able to return it. This is to encourage exhibitors and their parents to support the event by buying the pictures for a non-specified donation.
CONDITION FOR ENTERING THE COMPETITION:
If your picture is selected for the exhibition, you agree to donate your picture to Young Art Oxford for the purpose of raising money for Cancer Research UK. It means that you grant Young Art Oxford the right to:
- exhibit your picture at the exhibition
- take photographs of it and publish those photographs on our website and programme
- sell this picture itself in return for a donation to Cancer Research UK, with a priority right for your family and friends
- copy your picture on postcards or canvases and sell those products for the purpose of raising money for Cancer Research UK
