DEADLINE: All entries must be received by 1st March 2024. 4 AGE GROUPS RECEPTION to YEAR 2 YEARS 3 to 4 YEARS 5 to 6 YEARS 7 to 9 MATERIALS: Oil, watercolour, pastel, crayon, pencil, poster paints or ink, light collage (see above ). No bulky collage or computer generated images. Exhibited pictures are mounted with velcro on freestanding panels. Therefore, we can only accept artworks done on paper (ie. no boards,canvases etc.). If we feel we cannot hang an artwork due to materials used, it will be removed before judging. SIZE OF PAPER: Up to A3 (42cms X 30cms) Pictures must NOT be mounted We recommend children use rectangular sized, good quality paper (not A4 printer paper); good quality paper photographs better which means better images for the website and printed products ENTRY FEE: £2 per picture NUMBER OF ENTRIES: One picture per child accompanied by entry fee. Joint entries are not allowed. A minimum of 5 pictures need to be submitted in any age category entered by your school. If there are less than 5 pictures in one age category, they may be judged in a mixed-schools group. LABELLING OF WORK: Name, school year and school must be clearly marked in block capitals on the back of each entry. Please do not put names or signatures on the front of the picture - any signed work will be withdrawn from judging. A short explanation or title may be given to the work and those details written on the back of the picture. Each school should provide a typewritten list of the names and year group of all children taking part, together with a summary of the numbers of pictures submitted per age category. SELECTION: The number of pictures selected from each school is a proportion of the total submitted by that school, so the more entries there are from your school, the more pictures will be exhibited. PRIZES: For each of the 4 age categories our judges select a 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winner. Judges will also select Highly Commended and Commended pictures for each age category. RETURN OF PICTURES: If a child's picture has not been selected, it will be returned to their school after the exhibition. If a child's picture has been selected and bought at the exhibition by their family, it will be returned to you via their school after the exhibition. If a child's picture has been selected but has not been bought at the exhibition, we cannot guarantee its return. This is to encourage exhibitors and their parents to support the event by buying the pictures for a non-specified donation. CONDITION FOR ENTERING THE COMPETITION: If your picture is selected for the exhibition, you agree to donate your picture to Young Art Oxford for the purpose of raising money for Great Ormond Street Hospital. It means that you grant Young Art Oxford the right to: - exhibit your picture at the exhibition - take photographs of it and publish those photographs on our website and programme - use those photographs for the marketing and publicity purposes of Young Art Oxford, its sponsors or advertisers - sell this picture itself in return for a donation to Great Ormond Street Hospital, with a priority right for your family and friends
The parent of every child with a picture in the exhibition must sign the Young Art Oxford Consent Form
