OUR 2020 JUDGES
Korky Paul was born in Zimbabwe and studied Fine Arts and Film Animation.
Among his many picture books is the multi-million selling Winnie the Witch series.
He is a patron of The Art Room, Pegasus Theatre, ARCh, Reading Quest and The Stratford Literary Festival. He lives and works in Oxford.
He is one of the two permanent judges for Young Art Oxford and has been on board since its inception in 2008.
DR SARAH SIMBLET
Dr Sarah Simblet is a fine artist and Professor of drawing at The Ruskin Art School in Oxford. She has written and illustrated four major art reference books including her latest The New Sylva. She exhibits widely and has work in many collections including The Ashmolean and Royal Academy.
Sarah has been one of the permanent judges for Young Art Oxford since it started.
David Melling is a bestselling author-illustrator. David was first an editorial illustrator and worked for animation studios drawing backgrounds for TV adverts and short films. In 2001 David wrote and illustrated The kiss that missed and David has continued writing and illustrating for children ever since. Hugless Douglas is one of David’s most popular picture book series. David's books have been shortlisted for many awards including the prestigious Kate Greenaway Award.
Kieran Stiles studied Fine Art at Falmouth School of Art. Kieran's paintings are inspired by land and seascapes and he has work in many distinguished collections internationally. Currently Kieran is visiting Research Fellow in the Creative Arts at Merton College, Oxford. Kieran loves teaching people of all age groups, and advocates learning through creative exploration. He believes in a fundamental link between creativity and psychological wellbeing, and passionately supports the arts in schools and in life in general. Keiran lives and works in Oxfordshire.
